the diner FEATURE Through the power of the amazing network that is blogging I discovered The Diner! Thank you internet Gods! I was reading a ‘Top Burgers’ post and saw The Diner mentioned… The burger looked amazing so I found their website and began to drool at the menu. I am a HUGE fan of Diners Drive In’s and Dives on Food Network, Guy Fieri is a legend! So The Diner was a perfect fit to my American Diner cravings. They have 5 restaurants dotted around London, we (my boyfriend and I) went to the one in Covent Garden, it did not disappoint. Of course being a Saturday evening it was jam packed! We waited for about 10 minutes for a table, which I thought was pretty quick! I browsed the menu for what seemed like the millionth time, as I had been looking throughout the week previous in an attempt to make a decision.

the diner 2 I ended up going with my gut instinct and something quite out of my comfort zone. The Chicken and Waffles. I’ve seen in countless times on Diners Drive In’s and Dives and have wanted to try it. My time was now. It was incredible, the chicken had a really nice buttermilk coating which went really well with the sweet waffles and maple syrup, a combination I thought I may not be too keen on. I am sold on it now!! Iain opted for The Arch Burger which had pulled pork on the burger. And we got some cheese fries to share. I had in my head the line from Mean Girls where Regina gives up on the maths and says ‘Whatever Im getting cheese fries’!

We both ended the meal with a shake, I had a chocolate shake which had tiny bits of chocolate in, and Iain had a Hard Shake called The Kraken, which was Kraken Rum, banana ice cream and maple syrup. I think we both had a glance at the dessert menu, I know I did, but went for the classic milkshake instead.

I had such a great time at The Diner, I can’t wait til our next visit when next in London, as there are so many other things I want to try on the menu. Have any of you guys visited The Diner? If not, I highly recommend it if you like classic American style diner food.
