SOURCED LOCALLY FORTNIGHT

sourced locally 1

Something a little different, more of a lifestyle post today. Where I live the East of England Co-op is currently hosting Locally Sourced Fortnight (1st-14th June), where you can find some really fab treats, from the surrounding areas. Check out all the details on the website here and find your nearest store, it’s nearing the end of the 2 weeks now but there is still time to snap up some great local produce. I love the idea of being able to add to your current stock cupboard with foods/items from local producers.

I went into my local store armed with my very generous gift voucher* and started to fill up my basket. I was so surprised by how much I managed to pick up. Some fresh produce was a must so I snapped up some Norfolk Strawberries, and some new potatoes. Perfect addiction to a BBQ or picnic. Of course I stocked up on some choccys and cakes too. When I was putting everything together it reminded me of a gift hamper, which is a great gift idea, collecting together some yummy local products for a present.

Buying local is great, you are helping to improve/grow businesses in your local area and also you can find some really great alternatives to the big brand stuff! You can find out so much more by following the #iheartlocal hashtag on Twitter too.

Now to get stuck in to some of these yummy treats. I’m looking at you chocolate muffin!

It was really fun to find new local produce! I was contacted by them, I wouldn’t have known about it otherwise! I’m pretty sure they will do it again! :) x
