I am finding it hard to put into words how beautiful Sorrento is, but I will try to, as well as photos to prove it!! As you guys may or may not know I went to Sorrento for my holiday this year with my Mum and Dad, a much needed break from normal day to day life for a week of sun, good food, family and celebrations. I should mention at this point we planned our holiday around my Sister’s wedding! Going to a wedding is a really lovely thing in itself but to be invited to a wedding abroad is like so unreal! I’ll be doing a separate post about the wedding as it was so stunning!

We stayed in Sorrento itself which is about 1 hour 30 mins by road away from Naples, in fact you can see Naples across the Gulf of Naples which is an absolutely stunning view! We stayed the Hilton Sorrento Palace which is about 10 mins walk from Corso Italia, the main busy street full of shops and boutiques. Which leads to Piazza Tasso a bustling square where people watching is a must from the well known Fauno Bar, where we would finish many of our evenings with a drink and a natter.

We did spend most of our days around the pool soaking up the sun, but early evening before we found somewhere to eat we would have a wander through the many streets and alleys leading off of Corso Italia. Full of cute shops, lots of shops selling anything made from Sorrento lemons and of course usual touristy shops too.

On our penultimate day we spent the entire day exploring, looking through the boutiques (much to Dad’s enjoyment) and also headed down to the Marina Grande. For a slice of real life for the hard working people of Sorrento. Fishing boats and fixing nets were a constant sight. And of course we also saw the odd tummy full of fish cats sprawled out on the floor, living by the sea where all the gorgeous fish is brought in everyday! They were living the life! And I don’t just mean the cats!

Now for the photos, I’m gonna keep dragging this holiday out for you guys, especially now the weather is looking dial, we all need a sunny pink me up every now and then, so some photo diaries will be popping up on here over the next month.

I hope you have enjoyed this pizza slice look of my holiday, as I mentioned, you guys have still got a beautiful wedding to have a look at and also lots of yummy food! This trip might have been for a week but its amazing how much you can actually do and in my case take photos of. I’m also now back into the swing of things with blogging, nice to have a mini break but I’m all go from now on! Lot’s of exciting posts to come from here.

Much Love

I love Italy and Sorrento looks like a dream destination. I find boutiques in Italy, France and Spain offer really beautiful clothes and jewellery that you just don’t see anywhere else. x
